Blood Orange Honey Bundt Cake

Ingredients
 

For the Blood Orange Honey Cake

  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 10 tablespoon softened, unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup honey Local Hive Orange Blossom Honey
  • ¼ cup blood orange juice
  • 3 tablespoon blood orange zest

For the Blood Orange Honey Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoon blood orange juice
  • 2 tablespoon honey Local Hive Orange Blossom Honey

Instructions
 

For the Blood Orange Honey Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream 10 tablespoon of butter and 1 cup of sugar together.
  • Add in 4 room temperature eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla and combine.
  • Then mix in ½ cup of honey, 1 cup of buttermilk, ¼ cup of blood orange juice and 3 tablespoon of blood orange zest.
  • In a separate bowl sift together 3 cups of all purpose flour, ¾ teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoon of baking powder and ½ teaspoon of baking soda. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and combine.
  • Grease a 10 cup Bundt cake pan and pour in batter. Bake the cake for 45-48 minutes.

For the Blood Orange Honey Glaze

  • Combine 2 cups of powdered sugar and 3 tablespoon of blood orange juice. Then mix in 2 tablespoon of honey. (If the icing is too thick add a little more blood orange juice).
  • Let the cake cool completely and top with the blood orange honey glaze. Serve and enjoy!
