They're safe to eat! Because this isn't raw dough, you can eat to your heart's desire with no chance of risk!
Simple Ingredients for No Bake Cookie Dough Balls
- Flour- all purpose flour is heat treated to kill any bacteria found in raw flour
- Sugar– mostly light brown sugar is used, and some granulated sugar is used as well
- Unsalted Butter – make sure it is softened at room temperature
- Vanilla– I recommend vanilla bean paste for the best flavor, but vanilla extract works just fine too
- Salt– helps to bring out the flavor and balance the sweetness in the cookie dough
- Mini Chocolate Chips- used in the cookie dough and melted for dipping the cookie dough balls into
- Milk– replaces the liquid from the eggs in the edible cookie dough
- Coconut Oil- used in the melted chocolate dip

Step by Step Instructions
Please see the recipe card below for the complete measurements!
STEP ONE: Heat treat flour to kill any harmful bacteria in it. Sprinkle the flour on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake the flour and then let it cool.
STEP TWO: Add the butter, brown sugar and granulated white sugar to a large bowl. Cream it together with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until it's light and fluffy. Then mix in the vanilla. (You can also use a stand mixer.)

STEP THREE: Add in the salt and the flour and mix until combined. Then mix in the milk a little bit at a time just until the dough pulls together.
STEP FOUR: Add in the chocolate chips and combine with a rubber spatula.

STEP FIVE: Portion the dough out with a small, 1 tablespoon capacity cookie scoop. Roll each portion into a ball and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Chill the dough balls for 15 minutes.
STEP SIX: Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together in a double boiler.

STEP SEVEN: Once the cookie dough balls are chilled, dip each into the melted chocolate and return to the baking sheet. (You can also just drizzle the melted chocolate over some of the cookie dough balls.)
STEP EIGHT: Chill the cookie dough balls in the fridge for 10 minutes, or until the chocolate is set. Then serve!

Pro Tips
For the best results measure your flour properly. This is always my #1 baking tip. Do not ever scoop a measuring cup into your flour. This will always lead to using too much flour. Instead, sprinkle spoonfuls of flour into your measuring cup and swipe excess flour off with the back of a knife. Or better yet, weigh your flour. 1 cup of flour equals 125 grams.
Make sure to beat your butter and sugars together until the mixture is pale in color and fluffy, not just until it's combined. This will help to give you perfectly textured cookie dough.
